Activists Seized En Route to Gaza Allege Abuse in Israeli Custody

More than 20 people who tried to break an Israeli blockade spoke out about their experiences in custody. They were seized while traveling on their way toward Gaza. In interviews following their release, these activists described severe mistreatment. They reported suffering beatings during their detention. Some individuals also alleged they experienced electric shocks. Other forms of abuse were detailed by the captured travelers as well. Israeli authorities responded directly to these serious accusations. Israel completely denied all the allegations made by the activists.
